Happy New Years Eve! I know many people don’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions, but I think New Years is a perfect time to look back and assess where your life has been and give it a direction on where to go.
For 2018, I made 3 resolutions. I wanted to make at least one new friend, double my savings, and lose about 30 pounds. While my savings did not budge this year, I befriended several new people and hit my goal weight. Creating a resolution with a timeline pushed me into achieving these goals. Even though I only succeeded in 2 out of 3 resolutions, I feel triumphant and satisfied that I pushed myself to be a better person this year.
For 2019, I have a couple of goals in mind:
- Run a 10k without stopping at some point this year and get more into fitness overall.
- Wake up at least 2 hours earlier on weekends, to enjoy life more.
- Go on a weekend backpacking trip.
- Start volunteering again.
- Actually double savings. 🙂
It’s a longer list this year, but I am feeling the momentum from last year! What are your resolutions? How was 2018 for your goals?
PS – One of my favorite resolutions was back in 2010. I made the resolution to get out of the house and do something fun at least once a weekend; I still do it now and I love how it always gives me something to look forward to!
